I have watched town several times this season and I can only describe the team as poor and relegation is now creeping up on us. If we survive this season (some how?) surely it's time to bring in a new manager and start changing things for the future of the club. Hope we stay up

I have to agree Pjlfc on this 1st season as a management team in the NWCFL premier division and having to build basically a whole new squad it's definitely a work in progress there is more than enough quality in the squad to avoid the drop, It's a young side with plenty of potential they are learning every week and will only get better so surely bringing a new manager wouldn't be the answer stability is what the club needs and im sure Ian and his staff will bring that it's a learning curve for all staff and players but like I said earlier young side plenty of potential keep up the good work lads

Hi gall83 pjlfc,
Sorry unsure who you guys actually are as your usernames are not your real names.
Anyway from a fans point of view the team is not good enough for this standard and the manager did not have to build a new squad from scratch as the current first team is just the Wigan Robin RESERVE team which have played with each other for a while.
We have not moved forward putting Ian in charge, in fact we have moved backwards as the squad from last year was far better and more experienced.
Anyway the decision is with John and the board on who is in charge so hopefully he will review manager’s position at the end of the season. (town reserves play better football than our first team)
Cheers

A lot of lads from last year moved on Judge Crompton Mawdsley Williams Novak stoker Lomax Edwards fitzjohn never played for WRP reserves 5 of whom won the 1st division as regulars for Wigan robin park 1st team last season so not all from reserves like I said in earlier post its a young side it's been a massive learning curve for them an yes you do need experience I agree but you say about last seasons side being better an more experienced they got relegated you happy with that yes got a reprieve because of flixton going under! It's a tough job to do although its a great non league club there are no funds to get players in and also don't have own ground look at robin parks facilities that attracts players. As for saying the reserves play better football surely you have to look at the standard they are playing in the St. Helens combination which no disrespect is a pub league they have won 2 games out of 13 8th out of 11 teams and correct me if I'm wrong the 1st team beat them in a friendly before Xmas 9-1. The reserves have not produced one player for the 1st team this season. Everyone entitled to there opinion that's why we love the game but for me stability at the club would be the best thing staying up this season an go again next season

Once again I left edge green street disappointed on Tuesday, am going to be totally honest the current squad is terrible and play like a pub team and from what I've heard the team is basically a pub team from skem. The team last year were far better and got us some great results even though we got relegated they were a better team to watch. Personally for the best of the club the current manager/players/coaches need replacing. Bring back lee Riley who had actually played at a good level unlike the current manager or people involved

Also I was speaking with some fellas from Ashton town on Tuesday and they said the team will definitely get relegated this season if we keep the current manager

Jonesy I couldn't be bothered readlng your long messages but the reallity is the current st helens town squad is very poor and not enjoyable to watch so hopefully we will see a change soon or at the end of the season. This season is a perfect example than you can't do well in the NWC premier division with an ex pub from skelmersdale and ex wigan robin reserve players because that's what we have. If your going to reply please don't write another boring message! Also why don't you do your talking on the pitch or is it because you can't?

Going to go down because some fellas from Ashton Town said they will is the most embarrassing thing I've read on here pure comedy that haha I agree about the disappointment the other night and I'm sure all the playing and management staff would. As for the pub team as I put in an earlier post there are 5 lads who I can think of who were winners of the nwcfl division one title last season not a bad pub side that then is it? And as for none of the management team not playing at the level you obviously haven't done your research have you Ian Price was a regular in the skelmersdale team that won promotion to the league they are in now also Ste Edwards who has been a consistent scorer in the nwcfl for the last 5 years. You backed a team that were relegated last season that played good football according to you results showed otherwise unfortunetely, there is about 20 games left to play plenty of points to be won judge at the end of the season and back the lads this is were the support is needed

Nice of jonesy to remove his comments.. Look I have been watching St. Helens town for over 23 years now and this is the worst team I've ever seen and you know nothing about town and what were all about, lets just see if we stay up with a pub team

Great result last night for the skem pub team (with 4 key players missing from the squad) away to top of the league, I thought we were very unlucky not too take all three points.

I did attend the both Silsden and Runcorn Town games and was happy to see us take 4 good points but last season’s squad beat the likes of Ramsbottom and Barnoldswick.
Let’s just hope we can stay up and the people in charge sort it out soon or at the end of the season and get an experience manager in, instead of someone who was clearly 4th or 5th choice and that’s what we ended up settling for which isn’t good enough.
I was near the dugouts on Tuesday and on Saturday and was unsure if the St. Helens staff had a brain cell between them, half of them were just joking and laughing all game and not focusing on what’s going on, on the pitch.
Cheers Pete

Been a while since I last updated….
Back in the relegation zone were we have been basically since Ian Granite and his squad arrived. The last two games performance wise have been dreadful and we have been played off the park at times. The team just looks out of place and unfit.
Anyway I will be travelling up to Blackpool for the next game so hopefully we will see an improvement.
John and the board please sort it out soon because we will be playing in the first division next season.
